We are committed to ensuring your new companion arrives healthy, happy, and ready to be loved. Our independent Scientific Advisory Board, composed of national experts in animal care, guides our health protocols, setting the highest standards for safety and well-being. Additionally, our 10-Year Health Commitment provides peace of mind with comprehensive coverage for any health concerns, as long as pet insurance is in place.
The Health of Your Pet is Everything

The environment that a newborn pet experiences is crucial. That’s why GentleCompanions has established the highest standards of breeder care in the industry. Our breeders go above and beyond to create clean, comfortable, and spacious environments, allowing each puppy, kitten, cat, and horse to wean, rest, and explore their surroundings in peace. Once a breeder is accepted into our program, all of their animals must pass a comprehensive health evaluation by a licensed veterinarian before delivery.
Pet health begins at our breeders' homes

Every GentleCompanions-certified Breeder Partner is required to keep their puppies, kittens, cats, and horses up-to-date on all vaccinations and deworming regimens. Within 48 hours prior to delivery, each newly adopted pet must pass a comprehensive “nose-to-tail” health evaluation conducted by the Breeder Partner’s licensed veterinarian. This evaluation includes a thorough examination of the ears, eyes, mouth, teeth, gums, respiratory system, cardiovascular system, musculoskeletal system, skin and coat, gastrointestinal system, and external genitalia. The veterinarian checks for common conditions such as conjunctivitis and parasites, as well as rare indicators of potential congenital issues. The results of this evaluation are documented in our mandatory Veterinary Health Report (VHR).
