Welcome to Gentle Companions. These Terms and Conditions of Commitment ("Terms") govern your relationship with Gentle Companions and outline the responsibilities and expectations associated with acquiring a companion animal—including puppies, kittens, and horses—through our platform.
By engaging with our services and making a commitment to any animal listed on www.gentlecompanions.pet, you agree to abide by the following terms. Please read them carefully.
1.1 Lifelong Responsibility: Acquiring a companion animal is a long-term commitment. You agree to provide lifelong care, love, attention, and proper veterinary services to the animal you adopt or purchase.
1. Commitment to Animal Welfare
1.2 Species-Specific Needs: You acknowledge and understand that different species—dogs, cats, and horses—have unique physical, emotional, and environmental needs. You agree to provide species-appropriate housing, nutrition, training, and exercise.
1.3 Fitness to Own: You affirm that you are legally and financially capable of caring for the animal, and that no legal restriction prevents you from owning or keeping animals.
2.1 Veterinary Care: Gentle Companions ensures that animals are examined by licensed veterinarians prior to placement. However, we do not guarantee future health. Buyers are encouraged to schedule an initial veterinary check-up within 72 hours of acquisition.
2. Health and Behavioral Expectations
2.2 Temperament and Training: While we strive to match you with animals of sound temperament, behavioral traits can vary. You accept responsibility for ongoing training and behavioral development.
3.1 No Unethical Transfers: Animals acquired through Gentle Companions must not be resold, abandoned, or placed in unethical environments including shelters, laboratories, or illegal breeding operations.
3. Ownership Transfer and Rehoming
3.2 Rehoming Procedure: If unforeseen circumstances prevent you from continuing care, you must first contact Gentle Companions to explore rehoming assistance or return options.
4.1 Non-Breeding Agreements: Certain animals may be placed under non-breeding agreements, especially those adopted as companions. Breeding in violation of this clause is grounds for legal recourse.
4. Breeding Restrictions
5.1 Account Information: You agree to provide truthful, accurate, and current information during registration and maintain the confidentiality of your account.
5. Site Usage and Eligibility
5.2 Age Requirement: Users must be at least 18 years old to commit to an animal through our services.
5.3 Site Conduct: You may not use the Site for any unlawful or abusive purpose. This includes misleading listings, fraudulent activity, or impersonation.
6.1 Animal Behavior: Gentle Companions is not liable for injuries or damages resulting from animal behavior post-placement. You assume all risk and responsibility.
6. Liability and Disclaimer
6.2 No Guarantee: We do not guarantee the longevity, future health, breed confirmation, or specific traits of any animal.
6.3 Third-Party Services: Gentle Companions may link to third-party services (e.g., trainers, groomers, veterinary services). We are not responsible for the services or actions of these third parties.
Gentle Companions reserves the right to suspend or terminate services to any individual who violates these Terms or engages in behavior that jeopardizes animal welfare.
7. Termination of Services
These Terms may be updated periodically. Continued use of our services following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
8. Modifications to Terms
Terms and Conditions of Sale
1.1 Eligibility: To purchase an animal, you must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding contract.

1.2 Accepted Payment Methods: We accept payment via major credit/debit cards, bank transfers, PayPal, BTC via Cash App, or approved financing partners. All payments must be made in full unless otherwise stated in a written agreement.
1.3 Sales Finality: All sales are considered final upon delivery unless otherwise covered by a health or satisfaction guarantee stated at the time of sale.
2.1 Pricing Policy: Prices for animals listed on the Site are subject to change without notice. Prices do not include taxes, transportation, or veterinary costs unless explicitly stated.
2. Pricing and Deposits
2.2 Deposits: Deposits are required to reserve an animal. Deposits are non-refundable unless otherwise agreed in writing. The remaining balance must be paid before transfer or delivery.
3.1 Initial Veterinary Evaluation: All animals are examined by licensed veterinarians prior to sale. Buyers are strongly encouraged to have the animal examined by their own veterinarian within 72 hours of receipt.
3. Health Guarantees
3.2 Health Warranty: Some animals may be sold with a limited health guarantee. If the animal is diagnosed with a life-threatening congenital or hereditary condition within the specified warranty period, a refund, replacement, or credit may be issued at our discretion.
4.1 Delivery Options: Animals may be delivered through approved transportation partners or picked up in person. Additional fees may apply.
4. Delivery and Transfer of Ownership
4.2 Transfer of Ownership: Ownership is transferred once the full payment is received and the animal is delivered. A transfer certificate or sales agreement will be provided.
4.3 Shipping Delays: We are not liable for shipping delays due to weather, airline schedules, or unforeseen circumstances.
5.1 Post-Sale Care: Buyers agree to provide the necessary housing, nutrition, veterinary care, and socialization appropriate for the species—dog, cat, or horse.
5. Buyer Responsibilities
5.2 Compliance With Local Laws: Buyers are responsible for understanding and complying with all local, state, and national laws regarding the ownership, transport, and care of animals.
6.1 Limited or No Breeding Rights: Some animals may be sold with limited registration or non-breeding contracts. Violating these agreements may result in legal action or forfeiture of ownership rights.
6. Breeding Rights and Restrictions
7.1 Voluntary Returns: Returns are subject to Gentle Companions’ return policy. We reserve the right to refuse a return based on the condition of the animal and the timing of the request.
7. Return and Rehoming Policy
7.2 Rehoming Assistance: If you can no longer care for the animal, contact us first. We may offer support in finding a new home, depending on the situation.
8.1 No Liability for Future Health or Behavior: Gentle Companions makes no guarantees regarding the animal’s future health, size, temperament, or breeding suitability unless expressly stated in writing.
8. Limitation of Liability
8.2 Assumption of Risk: By purchasing, the buyer accepts all inherent risks associated with animal care and ownership.
9.1 Governing Law: These Terms are governed by the laws of the state in which Gentle Companions operates.
9. Dispute Resolution
9.2 Arbitration Clause: Any dispute arising from these Terms will be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with commercial arbitration rules.
Gentle Companions reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updates will be posted on www.gentlecompanions.pet. Continued use of the Site or completion of a sale constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
